FLUFFY ALPACA MIX
Our hand-dyed “Fluffy Alpaca Mix” has an exciting and slightly unusual fiber composition. It consists of 38% baby alpaca, 25% non-superwashed merino and 37% pima cotton, with a yardage of 400 meters.
The baby alpaca wool comes from the very first shearing, which is the absolute finest and softest. The Merino wool is non-superwashed, which means that the wool has retained its many good properties. Pima cotton is a term for cotton that contains the longest and softest cotton fibers. All in all, this unique combination of fibers makes “Fluffy Alpaca Mix” an exciting, ultra-soft, durable and “fluffy” quality.
It is perfect for those who want a lighter “fluffy/hairy” yarn quality that does not shed. Knitted double, we get the same gauge as for our “Fat Mohair”.
The quality is perfect for all types of clothing as well as hats, scarves and much more.
Typically, you want to knit a yarn with a yardage of 400 meters on knitting needles 3-3,5 mm, but “Fluffy Alpaca Mix” can easily be knitted on knitting needles 4-5 mm, which makes it very durable to use. I have knitted a sweater in size L for myself on needles 4.5 mm, and only used 230g of yarn.

OBS. Please note that the yarn is hand dyed and dyed in small batches. The colors may vary.
