ALPACA CLOUD
Alpaca Cloud is spun from 100% super baby alpaca – meaning the softest and finest alpaca imaginable. This yarn is spun “like a cloud around a thinner core,” resulting in an incredibly soft and airy yarn that even the most “wool-sensitive” individuals can wear :-).
Alpaca Cloud is suitable for all kinds of clothing and accessories (except socks).
Alpaca Cloud is a “fluffy” yarn quality but does not tend to shed.
Alpaca Cloud is sold in bundles of 50g with a yardage of 150m/50g (= 300m/100g). Due to the way this yarn is spun, it can be knit on a larger needle size than what is typically used for yarn with a similar yardage.
Our sweater “Gerda” is knit on a 5.5mm needle, achieving a gauge of 14 stitches/10 cm – this means that Alpaca Cloud is incredibly economical to use, and thus, we only used 200g of Alpaca Cloud for “Gerda” in size medium.
“Alpaca Cloud” is our softest yarn quality, and since it is sold in 50g bundles, it is very suitable for knitting projects where multiple colors are used.
