BRUSHED ALPACA 400
Our super soft and fluffy Brushed Alpaca 400 is made of 100% baby suri alpaca and has a length of 400 meters/100g. There are two types of alpaca: suri and huacaya.
The Suri alpaca is more rare and makes up approx. 5% of the alpaca population. The hair from the suri alpaca is longer and shinier. Baby suri alpaca refers to wool from the very first shearing of the alpaca, which is the absolute finest and softest.
Alpaca wool is as soft as cashmere and warmer than sheep’s wool. In this quality, the alpaca is brushed, creating a light and airy yarn with a fuzzy appearance. The yarn is incredibly soft and a true pleasure to knit with. Brushed Alpaca 400 is perfect for most garments and accessories. The brushed yarn produces a light and airy knit.
We recommend 3–4 mm knitting needles with a single strand (21–24 sts/10 cm) and 5–6 mm needles with a double strand (14–16 sts/10 cm).
