Maggie is a short, slightly boxy slipover, knitted top-down with large floral motifs in intarsia knitting.
The slipover is worked with double strands of Fluffy Alpaca Mix, while the flowers are knitted with a single strand of Mohair Bouclé, giving them a prominent effect.
First, the back is knitted. Short rows are worked initially to shape the shoulders, and after completing the upper back, stitches are increased for the armholes, followed by the rest of the back.
Then, stitches are picked up along each shoulder to knit the two front pieces separately while shaping the neckline. Once the neckline is shaped, the front pieces are joined and worked with increases for the armholes until it matches the length of the back piece.
Both the front and back pieces are finished with a wide ribbed hem. The floral motifs are continuously knitted following a chart using the intarsia technique.
Afterwards the side seams are sewn together, and stitches are picked up around the armholes to knit an i-cord edge. Finally, a ribbed neckline is knitted to complete the piece. And know you have the finest Maggie Slipover.
