Cotton Terry is an absolutely fantastic cotton quality that is ultra-soft and light, with a yardage of 500m./100g. The yarn is spun as a bouclé thread, which makes the knitted fabric as soft as terry cloth.
A wonderful cotton quality made of 100% Pima cotton. Pima cotton refers to the finest and longest cotton fibers. The long fibers mean the yarn requires less twisting, allowing it to retain its softness. The Pima cotton is grown and spun in Peru.
The yarn is spun as a bouclé thread – which means that the yarn consist of small tiny loops.
These bouclé curls give the yarn volume despite its thinness, resulting in a very light yarn compared to most cotton qualities, which are often quite heavy.
The yarn is excellent for light and summery knits for both children and adults. As it is pure cotton, it is also completely itch-free.
We get a gauge of 22 stitches/10 cm on 3.5 mm needles. But the yarn also works wonderfully when held double for a slightly thicker fabric, achieving 16 stitches/10 cm on 5 mm needles. We also highly recommend using it as a companion thread. For example, we’ve knitted it together with a thread of Recycled cotton on 4.5 mm needles, achieving 19–20 stitches/10 cm.

Note: This yarn often contains excess dye, even though it is always thoroughly rinsed before sale. Some color bleeding may therefore occur. We recommend adding a small amount of vinegar to the water when washing, as this can help “set” the colors.
